I am supporting an open call to citizens, scientists and public organizations to protect the Stymphalia-Ziria region, one of the most important natural areas in Greece. Together with the „Ziria Protection Network“ I am developing a plan for making the region a UNESCO Biocultural Heritage Site.

Declaring the Stymphalia-Ziria region a UNESCO heritage site has the potential to attract international attention, reputation and to sustainably support the local economy.

Meanwhile, it will safeguard the long term survival of the area, and thus the protection of the local communities that depend on Lake Stymphalia and Mount Ziria.

The voyage towards this goal shall raise awareness, mobilize locals and create many actions that will be protective of the area’s environment, people & resources.
